OUR STORY

Aqualuce is an independent international design practice
specialising in Marine Lighting Design founded by John Roberts.
For over 30 years our work has merged two fundamental industry requirements:

STUDIO PHILOSOPHY

Aqualuce’s considerable technical ability insures a robust and maintainable lighting control system is designed and technical restrictions do not negatively impact the final lighting design. We can proudly say that through our projects we have helped shape Marine Lighting Design. Over the years Aqualuce has set some important benchmarks with some historical projects still considered among the most ground-breaking yachts ever built. We make sure all our projects are tailored to meet individual requirements of each Client. All our designs combine the best technology and ideas into a simple end user experience.

what we do

Lightplan is our Sister Company specialised in land based lighting design projects. Founded in 1983, it is one of the first Lighting Design Consultancies in the UK. In those 40+ years we have carried out over 600 projects, as varied as No. 10 Downing Street, HM The Treasury, Kettle’s Yard Museum, private houses for Sir Elton John and Sir David Lean, to name two people in the public eye.

Aqualuce and Lightplan share the same design approach and philosophy. We work on bespoke solution that translates numerous design options and technology solutions into a simple, user-friendly design that brings all functional and aesthetic elements of every project to its maximum.
